In the summer of 2020 I joined the team at Acute Art in London to work on a series of AR and VR artworks by seminal creators including:

  • Nina Chanel Abney
  • Lu Yang
  • Tomás Saraceno
  • Bjarne Melgaard
  • Cao Fei

Duties

I rigged a dizzying array of creatures, from Tomás Saraceno's hairy spiders to Bjarne Melgaard's totemic and otherwordly fusions.

The main challenge was to stretch Maya rigging as far as possible while respecting the constraints of the target platform (Unity).

I also produced toolboxes to help the wonderful Dominic Griffiths bake out his animation from Maya to Unity.
